A hot air balloon flight is already magical, but our secret ingredient is the Bičuks family “spice mix.” We don’t just follow a time table or standard script – we add stories, jokes, and that cozy family vibe, so it feels more like flying with old friends than with a tour company. It’s not just a stroll through the clouds – it’s the kind of adventure you’ll still be talking about over dinner weeks (years) later.

Everything You Need to Know
About Flying Hot Air Balloon
From safety to weather to booking – we’ve laid it all out clearly, with a friendly smile and not a single cloud of confusion in sight.
-
What makes B2Fly flights so special?
-
How long does the adventure last?
Plan for about 3–4 hours with us. Don’t worry, we’re not clock-watchers – it’s all part of the journey: meeting the crew, helping inflate the balloon, a quick safety briefing, about an hour in the air where time stands still, and finally a celebratory toast and certificate proving you’re now officially a “balloon aristocrat.”
-
Can children fly too?
Absolutely! We recommend kids be at least school age (around 6 years old), so they can see over the basket edge and remember the adventure for more than just dinnertime. To be honest, kids are often braver than adults up there – and it’s a great crash course in physics, geography, and a sprinkle of aviation, all in one hour!
-
When is the best time to fly?
Any season when Mother Nature gives us the thumbs up. From April to October, the fields are green, rivers sparkle, and the sunsets are breathtaking. But winter flights? That’s straight out of a fairytale – snow-covered landscapes below, endless blue sky above.
-
What can I expect during the flight?
Unforgettable views, complete peace and quiet (except for the occasional “whoosh” of the burners), a sprinkle of family humor, and maybe even a few wild deer or foxes spotted below. Every location has its own “wow” moment – in Sigulda you can count the twists of the Gauja River, in Limbaži you can see the sea in the distance, and if we float over your backyard, well, don’t forget to wave at the neighbors!
-
Are hot air balloon flights safe?
Yes! Safety is the fabric that holds everything together. Our pilots are licensed, our equipment is regularly inspected, and we never take risks with weather. If something feels off, we’d rather stay on the ground with hot tea than in the sky with an unwanted adventure ending.
-
What weather conditions are suitable?
For a perfect flight, we need calm winds, no rain, and no overly ambitious thunderclouds. Sunshine is always a bonus for great photos. Mother Nature is our co-pilot – she always has the final say. And one more thing – balloons only fly at sunrise or a couple of hours before sunset. Not just because it’s ridiculously romantic, but also because that’s when the winds are calmest, making the flight the safest and smoothest.
-
What happens if the weather is bad?
Simple – we don’t fly. If the forecast turns sour, we’ll reschedule for another morning or evening. For you, that just means a little patience; for us, it means keeping everyone safe. And no, there are no extra fees or drama.
-
Can I fly if I have health issues?
It depends. If you’ve recently had surgery or have ongoing health problems, please talk to your doctor first and let us know too. We don’t want to limit the fun, but safety always comes first.
-
Can pregnant women fly?
Congrats on the big news! But this time – no. It’s safer to wait until the baby has arrived and then enjoy a calm, magical flight together later.
-
Can I fly the balloon myself?
You sure can – pilot schools love new enthusiasts. On your first flight, we might even let you pull the burner handles on the ground for a taste. But to actually fly people over treetops, you’ll need to study a lot, pass exams, get a commercial pilot’s license, and even register what’s basically your own mini “airline” with the Civil Aviation Authority. From the outside it looks like a dream job, but trust us – it comes with plenty of paperwork too.
-
What kind of clothes are suitable?
Think “picnic in a meadow,” not “catwalk in Milan.” Leave the high heels, white sneakers, or shiny Gucci loafers at home – morning dew and country roads can be merciless. Closed, sturdy shoes and layered clothing that you can adjust when the sun rises or sets are perfect.
-
Is it cold up there?
Surprise – the temperature in the basket is almost the same as on the ground! The burners even add a touch of warmth, so taller passengers sometimes feel like they’re standing next to a BBQ. A hat and jacket in winter – yes. A full-on penguin coat – no need.
-
Can I bring photo or video equipment?
Of course – that’s pure Instagram gold! Phones, cameras, GoPros – all welcome. Just bring a small bag to tuck them in during landing, so your lenses and covers stay safe. And no, no one has ever dropped a phone out of the basket… yet. Want to be the first in our history books? :)
-
Can I bring snacks or drinks?
Sure, grab a pastry or some nuts for the road if you’d like. Just remember – the real “banquet” is after the flight with Prosecco and a celebratory toast. Water or tea in a thermos – absolutely fine. A portable BBQ – maybe leave that at home.
-
Can I bring friends along?
Into the basket – no, unless they also have a ticket. But to the party afterwards – definitely! Your friends can be cheerleaders, photographers, or coffee providers on the ground, and afterwards everyone celebrates together with a toast. So yes, bring your crew – just know they’ll be more “ground team” than “sky team.”
-
How do I book a flight?
Easy – pick your flight on our website, hit “buy,” and follow the instructions. We’ll take care of the rest, from planning to final details.
-
Can I buy a gift card?
Absolutely! It’s our number one gift option. A hot air balloon flight beats a toaster any day. You can get it online instantly, or order a beautifully wrapped card delivered to your nearest Omniva door.
-
What’s the cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule, let us know at least 48 hours before the flight – no problem at all. Less than 24 hours, and we might be a little sad (and maybe ask you to bring Prosecco next time). Please don’t just skip your flight – someone else would have happily taken your spot.
-
Are there group discounts?
Yes! Our special 5+1 offer lets six people fly while paying for five. Mini-group flights also have special pricing. The more heads in the basket, the better the deal. Follow us on Instagram, we like to throw some special deal and even some freebies.
-
What payment methods are available?
All the usual suspects – credit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or invoice. And yes, tips for the pilot are always welcome (they make the landings feel even smoother). 😊
